The Barton Reading & Spelling System is a one-on-one tutoring system for students with dyslexia. It is a research and evidence-based program that is influenced by Orton-Gillingham. As a multi-sensory, direct, explicit, structured, and sequential intense intervention program, Barton is a great option for your child with dyslexia.
Elementary Level Homework Help
I’ve spent much of my professional career working with elementary students, so I know how often homework can be a struggle. Let me come alongside your child and help them with their homework or difficult subjects. I am also available to assist your family with virtual schooling.
Homeschool Supplement
As a former homeschool parent and director of a homeschool co-op, I have years of experience teaching groups of homeschool students. If you want to supplement your children’s homeschool curriculum with subjects like history, geography, or Bible, I’m here to help provide weekly classes.
About Tessa
I’m Tessa Barron, a pastor’s wife, mother of three adult children, and former school teacher. I’ve spent much of my adult life working with children, in one way or another. I’ve taught in a formal classroom setting, homeschooled my own children, directed and taught a homeschool co-op, tutored, led children’s ministry, and more. I am thrilled to come alongside your family, using my expertise to help your child learn and thrive.
My passion is working with children and helping them to gain greater confidence in their abilities.

Online Application
Fill out a brief form so that I can begin to understand how to best serve you and your child through tutoring. I will be in contact to discuss your goals more in-depth.
Free Consultation
Once you’ve filled out a tutoring request form, I’ll set up a time to meet with you and your child for a free consultation. This will help me assess where your child is at and how I can best help them. It will also give me a great opportunity to get to know your child more personally, which will help our connection throughout tutoring sessions.
Tutoring Success
After I’ve had a chance to meet your child, we’ll jump right into tutoring! I am confident that your child will begin to learn, will grow more confident, and will be excited about our tutoring sessions together.

Virtual and In-Person Sessions Available
This is a unique time due to COVID, and since your family’s health and safety is a priority, I am happy to offer both virtual and in-person tutoring sessions.
Let me tutor your student at a time and place that’s convenient for you, whether that’s virtually or in-person. In-person sessions can be held at your home or mine. (Additional fees apply for on location sessions.) But regardless of where we meet, all in-person sessions are conducted with safety precautions in place, including social distancing and cleaning / disinfecting our tutoring space.
